Pitta Balm

Open sesame!

We are always thinking (ok, obsessing) about unique, beneficial and all natural balm combos. Decidedly, we took a challenge; to create balms based on basic Ayurvedic Dosha principles* Ayurvedic who? Dosha what? Hurraw is lucky to have an Ayurvedic practitioner in the crew. Talk about obsessed! After two years of diligently formulating our asanas off, satisfaction arose.

We infuse rich, cold pressed organic sesame seed oil with plants, fruits and roots known to compliment each Dosha. We melt in our creamy raw organic coconut oil, rich raw organic cacao butter and emollient cold pressed organic castor oil. We mingle in a trio of flavors from pure essential oils and all natural flavor extracts to create a unique, long lasting, very nourishing lip balm.

Pitta balm:
An herbal infusion of amalaki.
The tropical smell of coconut merges with uplifting Malagasy lemongrass and the refreshing tingle of Oregon peppermint.

The Pitta Dosha: fiery, intense, fluid, sharp, transformative
Element: fire & water
Commands: confidence, ambition, focus, intelligence
Emotions: joy, excitement, courage, anger
Pacified by: sweet, cool, calm

*Ayurveda is the traditional medicine of India.
According to Ayurveda there are three Doshas: Vata (wind), Pitta (fire & water), and Kapha (water & earth).
These elemental forces manifest into one's mind and body characteristics. A unique combination of these three Ayurvedic principles (Doshas) are present in everyone.

Ingredients: *Sesamum indicum (sesame) seed oil, *Cocos nucifera (coconut) oil, ‡Euphorbia cerifera (candelilla) wax, *Theobroma cacao (cocoa) seed butter, *Ricinus communis (castor) seed oil,
Mentha piperita (peppermint) leaf oil, Cymbopogon flexuosus (lemongrass) leaf oil, organic flavor, *Emblica officinalis (amalaki) fruit powder, Tocopherols (sunflower)

Please take note if you have allergies: although there are no nut oils in these balms they are made on equipment shared with almond oil. Coconut oil is considered a seed oil.

I ordered 4 different balms and this one was meant for my boyfriend. He loves it! :) He can't get over how smooth it is and how lovely the scent is! The cooling peppermint also adds quite a zing to his kiss :P He is quite a fan! I am very happy with this purchase. The coconut and lemongrass blends well together.
I got my pitta balm in today and as soon as I put it on it soothed my lips! It's so cool and calming. It just puts you in a very good mind set. It's definitely going to be bought by me again!!
I've tried other hurraw balms like coconut and chai and loved them. However this one gave me severe chemical burns. I had dry chapped lips when I got it so I didn't realize for a couple of days that it was the lip balm causing my lips to be getting red and sore until it was too late. Probably some ingredient in it that did t agree with me. The lady at the health food store where I bought it thought it might be the lemongrass. Serious disfiguring sores on my mouth though and days of embarrassment from people staring. Seriously if you feel the tingling stop using it immediately because you might be sensitive too. Don't go through what I went through. They are still in the process of healing and time with tell weather or not there's permanent scarring. ** RESPONSE: We've been in touch personally with Kim regarding the Pitta Balm sensitivity.
Every year or so I seem to have a new favorite Hurraw flavor, and this is my most recent one! I was hesitant to try it because as much as I adore most Hurraw flavors, coconut and mint are both just so-so to me. I really like the lemon one, which has a touch of lemongrass in it, so I knew there was a chance I'd like this one. I'm pleased to say that all 3 flavors blend very nicely, and I agree with other reviewers who said that no one flavor particularly outdoes the others. I like that the mint in this one is a lot less tingly than the mint balm. It's a pleasant kind of tingly.
I just received this (with a few others) today and couldn't wait to try it. Cooling and refreshing are definitely appropriate words to describe this balm. The blend really is perfect. Not one ingredient overpowered the others. I'm in love and will be back to purchase this again along with the Vata and Kapha. Thanks for another winner, Hurraw!
Irritated my lips like crazy! My lips became red, dry, chapped and painful. This was such a disappointment and because this was the first Hurraw lipbalm I tried, it didn't make me want to try the other ones. I'll stick to the brand I've been using for years before trying Hurraw...
REPLY: Bummer nk!! We'll gladly refund you, just drop us a line with your order #. Most likely, you were sensitive to one of the ingredients in the balm :( It's rare but it happens. Not such a great first time experience. Agreed!
I really, really dig this one. I like all of the scents separately so I was sure I'd like the unique blend and I was correct. It's slightly tingly, super fresh, cooling, and I find the fragrance relaxing (as odd as that sounds). I'd definitely buy it again.
Such a great lip balm! It's so smooth, makes my lips so soft and smells so good! This company is awesome too, I ordered 5, and they sent a free one! So thank you Hurraw! Definitely worth a try :)
The lip balm is outstanding, smooth and not super thick or sticky but extremely moisturizing. Lemongrass is a very strong scent so if you don't like that scent or strong/lasting scents, don't get this one. You can smell it very clearly for a long time after putting it on. If you're a lemongrass fan, you will LOVE this!
This is my all time favorite! I am buying my third pitta balm, and one for a friend to try :-)
